What is the best VPN for KODI?
Looking for the best VPN? – Here is our recommendation!
VPN’s are a very popular conversation within the Kodi community – and it’s a topic that gets discussed on many live shows. With so many out there, it really is down to you to choose!
A simple Google search will present you with many different services, and everyone prefers different providers, however, my choice is IP VANISH
What is a VPN?
A Virtual Private Network (VPN) is a network technology that creates a secure network connection over a public network such as the Internet or a private network owned by a service provider.
It basically gives you protection by connecting you to one of the providers server which hides your browsing from your ISP (Internet Service Provider).
Why use a VPN for Kodi?
As mentioned above, the main benefits of using a VPN, is the protection against your Internet provider. There have been reports of ISP’s slowing/throttling connections due the usage/streaming, and the fact that they do not want their users streaming content from piracy websites!
The other advantage is opening your connection to viewing blocked content in your country! – For example, if there are programs/networks that are only available in the USA, but you live in the UK, using a VPN which is connected to a USA server, will allow you to watch it, as the connection will assume you are based in the USA!
What are the downsides of using a VPN?
Well, the main issue is speed! As you are connecting to another server and using their IP, so to speak, this can reduce your speed (in some cases it could increase). If you are on a 200mb package, you may find, that through a VPN, you could only be getting 5mb-20mb, depending on usage/connections.
The decision is yours, are you prepared to risk your security vulnerabilities fore a slower connection?
Give it a try!!
VPN’s are relatively cheap, and cost a between £3-£10 a month depending on provider, as mentioned above, we recommend IP Vanish – why? Because I have good speeds, they provide great service, and I have never had any issues!
I am not saying that this may be better than other providers, however, it works for me – why fix whats not broken, right?
And before anyone criticizes, yes, I do use affiliate links, why? Because, its nice to be rewarded for recommending a great service, it doesn’t cost you, and it benefits everyone, especially my server costs which is close to £100 a month. Unlike some, who only have a small/pro hosting package for £5 a month – I pay for a dedicated server, you can see how much they cost from a simple Google search.
Any revenue from things like ad clicks and affiliate fee’s go straight towards my costs.
Thanks for the read, I hope you enjoy the service, if you do decide to try them – Please consider your security moving forward!
